Corporate Development Senior Manager

ROLE OVERVIEW

DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE

  • Support the development of a cohesive sports investment strategy – market trends, areas of interest, synergy planning, compelling investment sectors, etc.
  • Manage QSI’s investment pipeline – screening of sports investment opportunities, complementing and diversifying upon the existing portfolio of assets – evaluating their financial performance, and integration potential
  • Drive M&A process execution – valuation, due diligence, transaction negotiation, documentation, liaison with advisors and internal teams, project/ timetable management
  • Oversee the Corporate Development team’s delivery of market researchcompetitive analysis, and industry benchmarking to identify key trends and opportunities
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the sports industry and market dynamics
  • Conduct financial analysis, build detailed financial models and business plans, to support strategic and investment decisions
  • Ad-hoc strategic business support to portfolio companies, across a wide array of business, commercial and wider organizational projects
  • Servicing the Board of Directors with required executive support – research, analysis, recommendations, preparation for board meetings, etc.
  • Develop shareholder performance reporting across QSI businesses, presenting key performance indicators (financial and operational) to management regularly

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • University level (Bachelor), minimum degree or equivalent

SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE

  • 7 to 9 years of experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, or in-house M&A / Corporate Development – end-to-end experience on an M&A experience is essential
  • A passion for sports
  • Prior experience working in sports and media is highly desirable, otherwise a demonstratable understanding of the industry

ABILITIES/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

  • Highly desirable: Business proficiency in French, Spanish, or Portuguese
  • Mastery of financial modelling and corporate finance
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to interpret data and generate insights
  • Excellent communication and the ability to present in a precise, compelling manner, and the confidence and professionalism to represent the organisation
  • Strong project management, and strategic planning skills

Senior Legal Counsel

ROLE OVERVIEW

  • Grade: Senior Manager

DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE

Sole legal counsel role, reporting directly to the CEO. The Senior Legal Counsel will be responsible for advising and supporting the Premier Padel business on a range of corporate and commercial legal matters that arise.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate, relevant and timely advice to all parts of the business on a variety of legal topics
  • Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts and business agreements, including partnership agreements, license agreements, promoter agreements, sponsorship agreements, supplier agreements, employment agreements, non-disclosure agreements, engagement letters etc.
  • Handle any potential dispute/litigation/arbitration
  • Provide leadership and support on all legal matters such as compliance, brand protection, data protection, corporate governance, company secretarial, lease agreements and contract validation
  • Manage and mitigate legal risks by designing and implementing appropriate company policies and procedures
  • Coordinate and work with external legal firms in local jurisdictions when necessary, negotiating and controlling costs
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations that apply to Premier Padel and proactively anticipate and assess legal risks to the business
  • Communicate with and foster relationships with third-party bodies, such as padel federations and tournament promoters

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in Law
  • +7 years post-qualification experience, either at a leading law firm or in-house, with a particular focus on corporate and commercial matters, ideally in the sports industry (but not a must)
  • Working language would be English. Any other foreign language, in particular Arabic and/or Spanish is a plus
  • Commercially minded and dynamic
  • Comfortable handling a wide variety of matters, including managing legal issues across different jurisdictions
  • Highly motivated and able to work efficiently under time pressure and deadlines in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Outstanding project management, leadership, negotiation and communication skills
  • Comfortable and effective in dealing with uncertainty and adaptability to change
  • Ability to work independently and to make practical and solution-oriented decisions and to represent them internally and externally
  • Able to undertake reasonable international travel, including to certain tournaments if required
