Paris Saint-Germain aims for greatness
Ahead of the 2024-25 football season, #The Los Angeles Times has released a feature on the new phase of growth of @Paris Saint-Germain under the custodianship of @Qatar Sports Investments, entitled: “By ditching its superstars, Paris Saint-Germain aims to achieve something greater”.
With PSG fielding its youngest-ever team in history against Le Havre in the first match of Ligue 1 last week (average age 22 years old), PSG’s future is built on youth, collectivity, the very best talent and long-term sustainability.
PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi said, “I was asked who will be PSG’s star this year. It’s the team, the collective team. That’s our star, that’s our strategy, that’s our future.”
The feature notes that the change in strategy doesn’t signal a change in ambition. Far from it. And what it does mean, however, is spending in a different way to achieve something much greater.
